Dear family, friends and colleagues,

I am excited to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity God is calling me to be a part of. In the summer of 2010, my wife and I will be taking a mission trip to return to Swaziland, Africa and serve with the ministry of Children’s Cup.

The purpose of Children’s Cup is to take humanitarian and spiritual aid into the hard places where war, natural disasters and disease epidemics have devastated societies.  Swaziland, Africa is one of the primary focuses of Children’s Cup as 43% of the Swazi population is HIV positive. Their work in Swaziland includes set-up and operation of care points throughout the country. These care points can be looked at as schools, medical clinics, food services and definitely a safe haven for hundreds of children and orphans in need of hope. They provide education to those children who can not attend public schools, desperately needed medical care, daily meals and biblical teaching through the Kids’ Bible Clubs. The work in these facilities has already shown children scoring higher than average public school students, better health and a knowledge and understanding of the love of Jesus Christ.  

My time with Children’s Cup will not have one specific purpose, but will take on many roles and responsibilities. It could involve teaching adults or children, arts/crafts, construction, medical clinics or even working with AIDS patients. My calling is to serve the Lord and this ministry as God leads and the ministry needs.

As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people. I need to raise $6,000.00 to cover the expenses related to this trip. I also need your prayer support. Prayer is the fuel that will allow me to be successful as I follow God’s leading in this ministry.
